ESM Enhancements
2023 ESM Update
Added vehicles and data received to date.
ESM Now Uses The ACES Parts Catalogs
Parts catalogs based on the ACES (Aftermarket Catalog Exchange Standard) standard for vehicles are now included with LubeSoft. Existing ESM vendor selections have been automatically mapped to their ACES catalog equivalents as part of the update and these now appear in your Set Up Parts Catalog screen (1-6-2-5).
As a reminder, a few parts catalogs were retired as part of the last release and will no longer be available in the LubeSoft system. These are AC Delco, Casite, Surefilter, and WIX Canada.
If not done already, it is very important to review the selected catalogs, and also to review the new Enable Automatic Selection option in that setup screen. Automatic selection differs from before in that catalog data is evaluated programmatically in order to make an automatic selection. Previously the application would often list “SEE CAT” where now a decision may be made automatically.
It is very important to review the setting in Parts Catalogs setups and make your own decision in terms of how you would like parts to be automatically selected for the six automatic type items in LubeSoft (Oil Filter, Air Filter, Cabin Air Filter, Fuel Filter, Breather Filter and PCV Valve). You should also carefully consider how your parts catalogs have been ordered, and reorder them as needed in conjunction with the automatic selection option you choose.

POS Enhancements
Upgrade To A 64-bit Debian Linux Operating System
LubeSoft has been updated to work with a new 64-bit version of the Debian Linux operating system, which includes current device support, security patches and web browsers. Because loading the 64-bit Debian OS update requires a full kickstart and minimum hardware specifications, ISI will begin shipping the upgrade DVD’s and instructions to stores that we know meet hardware specifications. Store groups will be able to gradually update stores to the new 64-bit Debian OS while continuing to update to future versions of LubeSoft point-of-sale.
Below are recommended equipment specifications for the 64-bit Debian OS.
*You may experience performance issues in some areas with older server configurations. ISI does not guarantee our software or upgrades will function on servers sourced outside of ISI.
**For those stores upgrading from older thin clients like Norhtec, the new Zotac CI331 thin clients will need to be installed after you run the operating system upgrade because the boot process used by the new thin clients is not supported by the older operating system.
*** If you have received new C1331 Thin Clients, please contact ISI for assistance getting them configured.
Contact your ISI Sales Representative for more information on upgrading (if necessary) your thin clients and server at (800) 922-3099.
Ability To Suppress The Vehicle ID And Customer Name In Areas Of The Software.
In the Center Control File, there is now a flag to activate the suppression of Vehicle ID and Name fields within the LubeSoft invoicing and service review workflows. When activated, customer name and the vehicle ID are not displayed on screen for LubeSoft and LubeSoft Mobile, and Vehicle ID is not printed on service review and standard invoice formats. The only on screen exceptions are where name or Vehicle ID is entered or edited.
