Reindexing History File

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

If the inventory activity history file needs to be reindexed, wait until after the close of the day, because this process takes a considerable amount of time.

Use the following steps to reindex the History file:

If any other LubeSoft sessions are open during reindexing, this process can cause unrecoverable damage to your system. Never reindex two different options at the same time; this can corrupt your files. You must log out all LubeSoft sessions except the one doing the reindex.
  1. On the Main Menu, select Lubrication Menu.
  2. Select Inventory Menu (7).
  3. Select Inventory File Utilities Menu (8).
  4. Select Reindex History Files (3) to receive the following prompt: You must log out all screens except the one doing the reindex. Files will not properly reindex if accessed by multiple users. Are all other users logged out (YES/NO)?
  5. Do one of the following:
  • To proceed with reindexing, make sure that all other users are logged out, then type yes and press [Enter]. You return to the Inventory File Utilities Menu when the reindexing is complete.
  • To return to the menus without reindexing, type no and press [Enter].
