The Employee Activity By Item Report evaluates the work done by an employee for individual inventory items or services sold. Broken down by employee, the report shows the employee’s productivity for a specific position in terms of gross sales and the sale of individual items and services. The sales figures include the following:
Note: | In order to show the employee position descriptions on this report, you must set them up in the Employee Tracking By Inventory Item field on screen 4 of the Center Control File. For each inventory item you want to track, you must type Y in the Employee Tracking field on the Set Up Inventory Items screen for each inventory item you set up. You also need to specify on this screen the number of employees in the # Employees field that you want to track for this inventory item. You can also set up this information for all inventory items within a category from the Global Inventory Changes screen (1-7-6-3). |
Sales are broken down into individual service and inventory item, showing the following figures:

Date | Select the date or range of dates you want this report to cover by typing the beginning date in the Low field and ending date in the High field. If you leave this field blank, it defaults to today’s date. |
Employee | Type the employee ID or range of employee IDs you want to print in the Low and High fields. If you only select one employee, type the employee ID in both fields. Leave blank to print all employees. |
Category | Type the category or range of categories you want to print in the Low and High fields. If you only select one category, type the category in both fields. Leave blank to print all categories. |
You can also set up this report on the Set Up Closing Processes screen (1-6-3) to print during closing processes.

This report helps you monitor employee performance. You can use it to gauge an employee’s overall effectiveness and to watch it for changes over time. You can compare an employee’s productivity by position worked. It also provides an easy way to get the information you need to help calculate employee commissions and other incentive programs.
The Employee Activity By Item Report provides information that can help improve employee performance. For example, the information in this report can be used to calculate merit bonuses or other incentive programs. This report can be part of an individual employee evaluation. It can indicate where a commendation is in order. You may detect areas where you would like to encourage an individual employee to improve or where you think more training would be appropriate.
By comparing productivity among your employees, you can get a better sense of what is to be expected from each individual.
