Backing Up All Data

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Although the daily closing routine includes a backup, there may be times you need to do a manual backup of your system. You can run a backup while your center is in operation, but the backup will not be as accurate as if you were not running invoices on the system. For example, the system data could be changing while you back up the system and, if you had to restore your system with that information, you would lose valuable information. In addition, this process will greatly slow down the system because the backup is resource intensive.

Use the following steps to backup your data:

  1. On the Main Menu, select Lubrication Menu.
  2. Select Lubrication Utility Menu (8).
  3. Select Backup All Data (5) to start the backup. The names of the files being backed up are listed on your screen.
  4. Approximately 10 to 20 minutes later when the backup is complete, the system returns you to the Lubrication Utility Menu. You can check the status of your most recent backups by running the Disk Usage and Backup Report (1-3-6-1).

If you have problems backing up or if your backups are failing, do not ignore it. If you do, you could lose all your data. If your backup failed, follow the Warning Notice instructions that printed out on your printer during the Start of Day process.
