ISI Central Requiring 2FA Beginning June 24, 2024

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an essential security measure to mitigate the risks associated with compromised passwords. In addition to logging in with a username and password, a 2FA protected application will validate the login using an authentication server that sends a unique code to a user’s second authentication device (phone, text, email). It is likely you have experience with 2FA when logging into financial, medical and many other types of websites or applications.

ISI Central has supported 2FA for several years, but there are still a number of customers who have not activated this important security measure for their organization. In the interest of providing industry standard protection for your data, ISI will be activating 2FA for all ISI Central accounts beginning June 24, 2024. For clarification, this change pertains to the ISI Central Reporting and Setups website, and will have no impact on Mobile Stats or the LubeSoft® point-of-sale.

The default settings for organizations who have not implemented 2FA by June 24, 2024 will be as follows.

    • Allow User Setups at Login: Yes
    • Allow Remember this Device: Yes
    • Allowed Methods:
      • Email: Yes
      • Text Message: Yes
      • Phone Call: Yes

For Organization Administrators:

If your user permissions allow access, and you would like to activate 2FA for your organization ahead of time, please see the following documentation: How to Manage and Set Up Two-Factor Authentication within ISI Central. If you choose to wait until 2FA is activated by ISI, you will still be able to modify these settings, but you will not be able to disable 2FA.

For those administrators who have already configured 2FA for your organization, no changes will be made to the 2FA setups. However, you will no longer have the option to disable 2FA going forward.
